The problem
In the BT Hackaton we had 24hours to find a problem and suggest a solution. After doing the research, I suggested that the team could focus on the Online security, combined with a home security. We decided to call it BT ID. It’s an unknown need for a customer, as they only face it once there is a problem.

Exploring User & Business needs
I ran a workshop to discuss the user and business needs. We had a fair few ideas- I facilitated a dot voting session to prioritise.

We believe that creating a new holistic security features for all BT customers.
Will provide customers with a comfort that they are secure at home and in the home, reduces cyber scams and become market leaders keeping the users secure and educated about the data protection.
We’ll know that is true when we see improved brand perception and reduction in complains about security
Competitor research
After team agreed that we going to focus on online security, we all did competitor research. Looking at apps and websites, not only UK , but worldwide.
We also looked at services BT already provide and I were thinking of the way to combine them.

Crazy 8 workshop
Once we agreed a user and business need statment and came up with a hypnotises, I ran a Crazy 8 workshop, where I encouraged the design thinking.
team members had a minute per square to come up with the ideas, then we dot voted on the ones we liked.

Story board and wireframing
Strong theme I saw in the Crazy 8 is that we all thought of a securing online identity by gamification.
It’s not only a recent trend, but also breaks complex information into steps, with a soft rewards to encourage user to complete them.
I started story boarding, to find out how we could do it, as well as facilitated a meeting for an early wireframing.

Prototype
Hackaton is only 24hours, I started working on the idea in Figma. Creating high fidelity prototype, that could be animated, as one requirement was to create a video.

Video Submission And results
I created a video, and I submitted it with couple hours to spare.
It was very fun 24hours and pubs were still open, so I took myself out for a congratulatory beer.
Sadly, we didn’t win, but the team had fun and I truly believe we came up with an innovative solution.
Since Hackaton, we received very positive feedback.
